Could you please describe Evomed’s activities in a few words?
Located in Lille (Northern France), EVOMED manufactures ultimate quality disposable surgical staplers and laparoscopic disposables. EVOMED products have been approved by major regulating bodies in Europe, CE and ISO. Impeccable quality and competitive pricing of EVOMED products, which are the results of an intensive research and development process, have proved themselves over and over in more than 20 countries.
Why did you decide to open a French subsidiary?
There are several reasons why we decided to establish our company in France. The main reason is that France and French surgeons are well known throughout the medical world due to their advancement and excellence in laparoscopy. As a manufacturer of laparoscopic disposables, we could not select a better place for our global headquarters than France, in order to discover the expectations of highly-skilled and demanding French surgeons as well as to observe the market trends in one of the most competitive surgical markets in Europe.
Why did you choose the Lille Region to set up your company?
Lille is a city that offers great accessibility. In less than two hours, you can reach many major European cities by plane, car or train. What’s more, many reputable European manufacturers have also decided to set up their facilities in this dynamic industrial city. The level of technical and infrastructural support you get from the local authorities is truly unrivalled.
How was your project welcomed in the Lille? What kind of support did you get?
We have received very positive responses from the local authorities as well as from the other manufacturers in the area. They have shared their past experiences with regard to the concerns we have expressed. The great thing is that the French manufacturers in Lille are more than the sum of separate establishments; they focus on creating synergy through a positive and solution-based approach to all possible issues.
What are your development projects for the future in Lille?
In the near future, we would like to expand our product portfolio by adding innovative products. To reach our goal, we will need to hire new R&D technicians as well as more employees. Continuous improvement is a must in today’s competitive business world. By holding this truth as our objective, we aim to invest in long-term and innovation-oriented projects such as by increasing our annual production capacity.
