Biomedical Sector
PHYSINTECH
PHYSINTECH, founded by Eric Labat in September 2005, offers a range of innovative products and services for research, diagnostics and the rehabilitation of balance disorders and vertigo. The Company has won the Competition of the Ministry of Research in the Creation and Development category and has been benefiting from the support of the Eurasanté Bio-Incubator since July 2004.
ESIUM
Stemming from the development of the SIGNACOM project, ESIUM is a company that has recently been set up by Pierre VERSCHAEVE. Its first objective is to develop a new aid tool for the visually impaired, to enable them to obtain useful information contained in visual messages present in the urban environment (outdoors and indoors), to which they do not have access as a result of their disability (traffic light signals, emergency exit signs, etc.), thus providing them with safety, autonomy and comfort when moving about in the city or in public buildings and therefore simplifying their daily lives.
LEBLATPHONE
Development of technical aids for the speech-impaired or those having difficulties in expressing themselves
FLUORESCENCE
This project arose from the collaboration between INSERM, the C.H.R.U of Lille and an industrial partner. Xavier MARECHAL (Emergence winner of the job creation competition of the Ministry of Research), the project initiator, participated fully in the development of this technique within the scope of his doctoral thesis. The process concerns the association of the traditional endoscopy technique with the fluorescent imagery technique. This pH dependent imagery technique appears as a key asset for the early diagnosis and exploration of gastrointestinal mucosa alterations in vivo. This project is expected to generate ten jobs.
AQUILAB
This company, founded in December 2000, concerns the development of medical devices, software and equipment devoted to the X-ray treatment of patients with cerebral or extra-cerebral lesions. This project results from a technology transfer of G.I.S image-assisted therapy (Oscar Lambret Center, C.H.R.U of Lille, U.S.T.L and the University of Lille II). The Lille team, of which the Chairman and CEO, David Gibon, is a part (Emergence winner of the job creation competition of the Ministry of Research), worked on the development of innovative products in the area of image-assisted therapy. Nine jobs have already been created. Aquilab has been awarded distinction from LMI and Nord Entreprendre. Finorpa and Nord Innovation have also entered into the capital. For further information, see the website : www.aquilab.com
M-TECHNOLOGIES
Development of a range of silicone self-adhesive bandages for the aesthetical healing market.
BIOMEDI-QA
BIOMEDI-QA is a future service company intended for hospitals, care centres and offices that use medical imagery, radiography, radiotherapy devices. BIOMEDI-QA will offer, within the scope of new statutory advances, an array of innovative services and tools enabling operators to outsource the Quality assurance of their facilities.
STUDEO
STUDEO is a young medical engineering company specialised in the design, implementation and study of the feasibility and industrial production of innovative medical surgical devices intended to facilitate certain surgical operations or to improve the comfort of patients. STUDEO mainly directs its niche towards certain areas involving visceral, functional rehabilitation and surgical drainage. Project initiated by Messrs. DECUYPERE and BERQUE.
ECOCITÉ
Ecocité is a company start-up project that aims to assist both private and public real estate operators in conducting housing services that combine comfort and safety, while fully meeting the expectations of dependent persons, in order to allow them to remain in their homes.
LOFI-Med
This project aims to develop biomedical technology, the property of the Joseph Fourier University, presenting the possible in vivo and in vitro applications. The project initiator is Mr. A. Pilat.
EVAL TRAIT PC
This involves the development of technical aids used to assess the psychological and physical effects of a patient during therapeutic treatment (particularly in the case of Parkinson’s disease). The development of this tool is made in collaboration with the Medical Technology Institute of the Regional University Hospital Centre of Lille. Its clinical assessment will be made in the Neurology A and Movement Pathology ward of Professor A. Destée.
ESTARIS MONITORING
Estaris-monitoring is a society specialized in the instrumentation of measure in the medical field. His know-how is issued from the valuation of the works conducted by a research team from the Lille university hospital (France). It is based on competences in electronics («hardware») and in the development of «software» solutions. Estaris-monitoring develops its activity according to two axes :
>The sale of a data acquisition and processing device for physiological signals
> An advice and biomedical engineering activity
The data acquisition and processing device is suitable for clinical and experimental research. This technological platform should allow, to a non- specialized user, to set up a complete acquisition and processing chain from the sensors to the electronic data files. The advice and biomedical engineering activity is proposed to the biomedical industry to develop new monitoring tools with clinical added value. It is also proposed to the research teams for the implementation of specific tools within the framework of their research. Estaris-monitoring won a prize from the «4-th national competition of assistant to the new business start-up of innovative technologies», obtained the label «L.M.I» from the Chamber of commerce and industry of Lille and is supported by the university hospital of Lille (France).
VECTEUR DOUCEUR
Le projet d'entreprise vise à développer et commercialiser des appareils de massage de nouvelle génération. Les champs d'application sont la kinésithérapie (articulaire et musculaire) et l'esthétique (amincissement, raffermissement, remodelage corporel).
